1) Obama is young

Voting for a president because they \feel\ young just isn’t enough for me. Honestly, as a young person, I respect the older generation. There is so much wisdom we can grasp from them.
When they established the minimum age of 35 for the president, that age was considered old in the founder’s day and age. Life expectancy then was much lower then, and so 35 was not considered young. If the founding father’s were to make the law today, I’d wager to think that it would be much higher. Perhaps Obama would not have qualified at his elected age of 47 or even JFK at age 43?

2) Obama lets youth feel important

I’m often amazed at how other young people I know get caught up with this. Time and time again throughout history, politicians do and say whatever they can to obtain a certain group’s vote. I think it is so important that America moves away from this and go back to voting for a candidate base on what they have actually done. Obama is a perfect example of someone with very limited experience, who said all the right things, and I believe time has, and will continue to show his inexperience.

3) Obama pushes change, which feels like a challenge, which feels exciting

The change Obama has pushed, has tripled the national debt. His Obama-care program has recently been proven unconstitutional by a court of law, as the plan will make it illegal if you don’t have health insurance. These are the kind of changes we don’t need.

4) Obama loves net-generation tools (the internet)

There are a lot of people on the web. The web is vehicle, much like a car, for example. A car can be used for good purposes or bad. I can’t see that voting for a candidate because of his web presence is a great idea. A candidate’s character; who they are; this is what is important. Will they defend the U.S. Constitution? Will they represent the people? And so on.

5) Obama is good looking

I don’t even know where to begin with this one. Let’s look at two of the greatest presidents: George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. I’d say physical beauty is not one of their most defining characteristics.

Where are you my fellow youth? Why such shallow requirements for your president? Let’s get back to the basics. This country was founded mainly on principles that limited government involvement in our lives. Obama on the other hand has sought to increase the governments involvement in our lives. Unfortunately I think young people do in fact like Obama for the reasons you listed. I think it is unfortunate, because I believe the reasons themselves lack depth:

By the way, I am nine years old. :)

I do not support Obama at all and I am very young myself. He is a good speaker and spits back what people want to hear. Not to say, that the media is on his side. People see “how he says it” and not “what he says”. Foe example he said that he wants to stop wastful spending on the military but then he says he wants to stimulate the ecomny by spending millions of dollars on a program that found a new MOUSE. To me that is wacked up and puts us into trillions of dollar in debt when we are already in millions.
