I would like to make a comment on the 2nd post. I am sorry for your loss and i do agree with you. I think marijuana should not be legalized because there have been other cases much like your sons. The suicide may not have been directly caused because of the drug itself but because of using marijuana it caused him to lose everything. In the professional world a drug of any sort is frowned upon even marijuana so managers/owners will fire a worker for using it because it is unprofessional. Then he was slacking off in school because the drug does make you lazy and care free and it brought him to a point of not caring and once struggling with school he fell into a depression where im sure he felt trapped and he couldnt do any better because he felt he had failed too much and that led to suicide. Marijuana does effect peoples lives in different ways and it should NOT be made legal. This lady lost her son and all yall can do is be downright rude. She isnt looking for sympathy, she was simply fighting for whats right in her mind just like all of you so learn to look at it from both sides and show a little sympathy.

"Marihuana influences Negroes to look at white people in the eye, step on white men's shadows and look at a white woman twice." -- Harry Anslinger (prohibitionist) The man who brought you much of your "facts". Never mind all of the Yellow Journalism of the time he employed to get to some of these "facts". Or your title could read a bit better of the times. "It is Associated With Laziness" -- Makes Niggers Lazy, or proves why Wet Backs have no work ethic.

‘want what you can’t have’ syndrome.

Ok so this is eliminated now because it's on a black market? Your kids seem to be able to get pot with relative ease -- even more so than alcohol. The drug dealers your kids & maybe yourself have to rely on, do they ask for ID? Do they only push one drug? I mean THC takes two weeks to clear out of your system heroin, crack(cocain) only take a matter of days -- so while your school sponsored drug testing will more than likely detect your child doing THC, well if they don't want to get caught heroin & crack takes away that worry.

Did you know 100% of heroin addicts start out drinking water before trying heroin? The gateway theory is a bunch of hypothetical BS, that falls on itself. The gateway theory doesn't hold water. Anything can be applied with this 'gateway effect', like bananas -- just do a study of heroin addicts that ate bananas before trying heroin & you can draw the same conclusions.

Did you know aspirin causes more deaths in one year than that of Cannabis has caused over 5,000 years? That's not tallying other drugs into the mix that are perceived as "safe".

"Marijuana is Not the Only Pain-Easing Drug". Heroin eases pain & used in other forms like OxyCotton, a litany of other opiates that are derived from opium. However, we can all see that these other pain revealing medication there is a larger, proven rate of addiction(physical & mental) of opiates. Just look it up in DSMVI

"Marijuana Can Have Negative Long-Term Side Effects"
Can you actually show us an actual medical study to back this up? Here is a recent study stating that Marijuana may in fact reduce cancer rates.
"Our results may have been affected by selection bias or error in measuring lifetime exposure and confounder histories; but they suggest that the association of these cancers with marijuana, even long-term or heavy use, is not strong and may be below practically detectable limits. " --http://cebp.aacrjournals.org/content/15/10/1829.full

Above all else though if the preconceived notion of that this drug war is actually needed to stem(control/lessen) drug use than why does Portugal show a drop in drug use across the board after legalization of all drugs? They had a fall in their drug use rates, as has Holland/Netherlands. The real question that show be posed here is why to continue the War on Drugs with all of the ills it puts on our society, for which there are many, with the rate of Drug Use is WAAAAY up since its inception & decade after decade it continues to climb.. What good is the Drug War at fulfilling it's purpose(it has never worked, they continue to throw large amounts of money at the issue, but, only fail at preventing use, exploitation? When legalization in other countries only shows a drop in uses, which is what we want as a society.

Haha i just noticed that the author is really unbiased...because she ALSO wrote 10 reasons to support legalization and they are actually valid and make sense!

I think that what these two articles prove, and what was probably her point, is that there are GREAT reasons to support it, but seriously flawed "reasons" to be against it. Good research finds that, no matter what :)

Soooooo kudos to the author actually lol. I was going to leave a mean comment too about how bad it was. But nevermind!

I should be able to post it here. Everything you have stated in this article is a blasphemes lie. Articles like this is what mis-educates all the idiots out there telling them lies as to not legalize. Get some correct information or don't post anything at all.
