Have you always wanted to write your own parenting advice, but do not feel like starting a whole blog or writing a book?

Are you a blogger or writer and want to get more of your ideas out there, or see what others think of your advice?

Do teens and parents agree or disagree on parenting rules?

What if parenting was done by a community?

Now, you can find out.

A few months ago I started a little pet project called the R Rules Wiki with a few of my teen interns.   As a team we came up with an idea to take advantage of the digital age to fill the age-old widening gap between kids and parents.  We want to give teens a voice in the parenting community and have neutral grounds for both parties.  I also want house rules to be more about Our Rules, not just Parent Rules or Teen Rules.

This is a wiki, or editable website or online book.  It is the first editable parenting book and I am very excited about it.  I developed it with a team of programmers in India and I am very excited to announce our Beta Launch! (We are still new so be patient if you come across kinks).

From now on I will be re-posting some of my blog articles on the wiki for you to edit, change and vote on my advice.  That’s right, VOTE! We built a plug-in that allows teens and parents to vote on advice and then display the votes to other readers.

It is very easy to edit, and we have people create a quick account so we can log your votes and edits as teen or parent votes (or non partisan, like me!).

Benefits of a Community Parenting Book:

-All opinions are displayed and heard

-Parents and teens can see how opinions differ and then change their behavior accordingly

-You can get published and express your ideas

-You can tweak my articles = )

-Link to your own books, blogs or favorite articles.

-There is awesome, unique information that you cannot get anywhere else.

-Parents can hear from real teens and teens can hear from real parents.  I want to bridge the gap between these two groups!

-You can ask a question or start a discussion that you would like teens or other parents to answer.

It’s like Wikipedia, but for parents!  Check it out at RRules.com.
