I love to watch movies! So, it’s become a habit of mine to go to the movie theater at least once a week. This summer, I did just that. For this month’s article I decided to reveal my top four movies of the summer! So get ready, get set, ACTION!
Sorry to all teens, but I love a good animated movie! Up follows the adventures of a balloon salesman and 8-year-old boy in the wilds of South America! Battling villains and beasts just doesn’t get old. It is such a cute, family movie. Go see it if you haven’t already.
3. Star Trek
The fate of the galaxy rests upon James Kirk and Spock. Directed by J.J. Abrams, this sci-fi thriller will glue you to your seats! Starring the incredibly handsome Chris Pine, this movie is packed with visual effects and action! And it deserves to be numero three!
2. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
The film we’ve all been waiting for. I couldn’t catch the midnight opening, but I got a glimpse the day after! So I still feel accomplished. Anyways, I have to tell the truth. The movie didn’t top Azkaban, but it was better than the last two Harry Potter films. There were more thrills and the relationship between Hermione and Ron was just hilarious. The reason why it’s number two is because the cinematography and visual effects were just outstanding.
1. District 9
This is by far the best movie I’ve seen this year. The film follows the events that occur when an extra-terrestrial ship settles above Johannesburg, South Africa. The creatures are forced to live in isolated slums. It gets even better when a human is exposed to their biotechnology. The hunt begins! The director and the actors are all unknown. I wasn’t so thrilled about it when the trailer hit the net. However, I decided to go see it anyway. Boy, was I wrong! The movie was beyond brilliant! You MUST see it to believe it! And yes, it is so much better than Cloverfield.
