What excellent advice! I’m on the back end of the Baby Boomer curve so my kids are 19 and 22. My wife and I used the “they’ll suffer the natural consequences of procrastination and do better on their own” method, and it never took hold. My 19 year old’s in college and still procrastinating. In retrospect we should have taken more control of the problem. Your suggestion of “chunking” allows them to set their own limits without conflict and I also use it with the younger kids I work with.
Keep up the good work!
