Lost Years

Shammara is a pursuing journalist who enjoys fashion and believes everyone has a purpose in life

I’m a teenage girl
So I must be flirtatious,
Thou must always be skinny
There’s no such as curvacious
I am a teenage boy
So I must want one thing,
Every word I speak
I am told I’m lying
Lost childhood
Shattered Dreams,
It seems as if
Everything isn’t as it seems
We teenagers
You and me,
Are always searching
To find no key
We share much in common
Unknown at the surface,
But little do we know
We all have a purpose
We lose our cherished years
Day through night,
Left alone by ourself
Never knowing what’s right
So live your life
But remember to be wise,
Because one day
You’ll wish to live it twice
